Schizophrenia Disease

Maybe u all y'all have heard about Schizophrenia.

First of all, i'll share "The Meaning of Schizophrenia"

Lemme know what do u think about it?
A trouble in someone's head which damages him/her and make 'em wild and insane?
Who do u think would have this disease?
Bums in the roadside, someone who decided to end their life by 'emself, or hysterical people in mental hospitals?
Have u watch carefully ppl around u? Do u think they're usual as they suppose to be?
Do not dare to make decisions about 'em as soon as it looks.
There is a possibility u missed "whats-on-'em" eventho' u know the person.
U don't even know their thoughts, it doesn't mean i scare u, but there are possibilities that they have mental illnesses.

I'll focus on Schizophrenia Disease, including one of mental illnesses.
Schizophrenia itself means a disease of the brain -- kind of disorder of the brain as Bipolar Disorder / Manic Depressive -, chronic, kind of complex illness,
Schizophrenia is one of the most disabling and emotionally devastating illnesses for society, they can't behave normally in social situations.
The disease caused by unbalanced of brain chemicals [one of chemical cell in brain],
such as dopamine overactivity, glutamate, reelin, and others.
According to the definition, this mental disorder makes the patients difficult to know the differencies between real and unreal things, and also can't think logically.
U often hear info that they have kinda split personality or multiple personality, but those statements can't describe Schizophrenia correctly.
Affected ppl are hard to (or usually can't) decide what is real and what is their imagination.
It usually begins during late adolescence through mid-adulthood.
Basically, childhood schizophrenia is rare. It begins when the patient through adolescence phase.Pretty sure both men and women can have it.

Diagnosis of Schizophrenia (Symptoms)
They have difficulty keeping friends or do their work. They focus on 'emself, rare to touch the real world.
Can u live with the voices in your head? Haunt u whenever or wherever u are?
No, u can't. And it usually happens with so many ppl in this whole world.
If the voices are telling u to hurt urself or others, or u getting feel hopeless and overwhelmed, unable to care for urself,
That's one of Schizophrenia symptoms. The symptoms are called "Positive Symptoms".
These include though disorder, delusions and hallucinations.
At the 1st, maybe u just have simple symptoms like tense feeling (irritating easily), difficulty to concentrate or sleep.
The most symptoms appear are:
Thought Disorder: Strange thoughts and ideas. Conversation could be difficult for others, it may contributes to a sense of loneliness, painfulness and isolation.
Delusions: They're beliefs the things that aren't true/real, a feeling that ppl try to hurt 'em or read their minds, or beliefs that they have special powers unlike the others. Delusions associated w Schizophrenia are distressing for you or ppl around you.
Hallucinations: It usually takes the form of hearing unreal voices, which means the voices just in their head and also see or smell things that others don't.
Bizarre Behavior: It has so many meaning. It can be a way that seem inappropriate to other ppl.

Ppl have the differencies, every person w Schizophrenia experiences the disease in a different way.
Not only "Positive Symptoms", there must be "Negative Symptoms".
Could u imagine how would it be?
Have u ever heard someone said, "This life looks like black and white", "No matter what i've done, the things getting worst day by day", or such statements like that?
That's one of Negative Symptoms.
These symptoms include the following:
"Flat Affect": Basically, s/he talks in a dull or monotonous voice, it shows their lack of emotions or emotional flatness
Inability to concentrate: It's hard for 'em to focus on something, they described 'negative' rather than 'positive'
Usually wanting to avoid ppl or to be protected
Lack of self-confidence: being apathetic - caused lack of pleasure in a lifetime.
But some psychologist also talk about Cognitive Symptoms; have a trouble to paying attention or focusing on something, problems w working memory (the ability to use information after knowing or learning it), hard to make a decision using the information they have.

Ppl w Schizophrenia, more than 1% in the world across all curtures.
According to NIH Research Expenditure by Disease, 1999, Schizophrenia Disease attacked more than 2million people.

This disease increasing by time flies. Have u knew about World Mental Health Day celebrate on Oct 10th.
It caused by the increasing of Mental Illnesses Disease including Schizophrenia.
As we know, "Things happens by reasons".
Schizophrenia caused by many reasons, such as genetic factors, environment (social and family stress, pregnancy stress), events or the thoughts, appear to play a role surely.
There are so many factors makes the normal ppl change like that;
According to research, the genes are contributors to Schizophrenia, so far the research about twin could prove it.
Genetics : Someone who related w Schizophrenia patients basically have a greater risk to get this disease. They're more likely to develop Schizophrenia (10%) if they have a family member w Schizophrenia disease, and about 40% to an indentical twin.
Environment : In every situation, it always has a correlation w the environment, Schizophrenia also does. The interactions of ppl w Schizophrenia in the past may contribute or made their mind.
The enviromental factors include school or work (insulting 'em), psychosocial factors.

The risk of violence among ppl with Schizophrenia is small.
In fact, ppl with Schizophrenia aren't violent *usually, if they are,the violence often directed to family members and take place at home.
Ppl who have Schizophrenia are much more likely to have a substance or alcohol abouse problem than the general population.
They are addicted to nicotine (smoking), it may be very difficult quitting smoking for 'em, they are addicted smoking at three times than the rate of general population.
Some drugs and stimulants such as marijuana, amphetamines, may make the symptoms worse.
But ppl w this disease attempt suicide more often than the others. Majority of young adult males (about 10%) die by suicide.

CT or MRI (brain scans) and blood test can help us to looking for the differencies among Schizophrenia ppl and normal ppl.
To prove the diagnosis, a psychiatrist must do interview of the person and family members. Basically. the questions are:
-How long the schizophrenia symptoms have lasted and the change of person's ability
-Genetic and family story
-Developmental background

“No matter what I do, they won’t go away. I have to find a way to live with them.”
That's a right statement about voices in the patients hear.
Some of Schizo ppl can live with that and look as normally.
Sometimes they have to fight with that but they still control it.
That's how a minority patients could do.
The minority patients w type like this are the hard ones to find.
They're different, the others will say they're kinda extraordinary, and i've ever found someone like that.
I knew how it desperately feels like, they act as usual, nevertheless, they're sick w all of their way of life. But who knows.......

Since u read the symptoms *i hope u did*, i guess u also need to know subtypes of this disease; paranoid, disorganized, catatonic, undifferentiated, and residual types.
Varian of the symptoms depending on their type of schizophrenia.
Paranoid schizophrenia symptoms are:
Moody person [easily to angry]
They belief that ppl try to harm 'em or the ppl their loved
Anxious [worry]

Disorganized schizophrenia symptoms are:
Rarely show emotion, childlike behavior
Problems w thinking and exspressing ideas obviously

Catatonic schizophrenia symptoms are:
Horrible expressions on their face
Doesn't respond much to others -- Lack of activity

Undifferentiated schizophrenia symptoms may include more than one of symptoms from the other schizophrenia type.

Residual schizophrenia have some symptoms.

I'll be back to add more info XD
Sincerely,
DEVILSSPEAK, Ara
